http://www.businessinsider.com/romney-vp-pick-pam-bondi-florida-attorney-general-2012-7As Mitt Romney draws closer to a decision about his 2012 running mate, speculation about who the Republican presidential candidate will select to be his No. 2 has reached a fever pitch.
Romney is expected to make the announcement sometime after he returns from overseas next week. In the meantime, his campaign has launched a major surrogate blitz, dispatching seven of the most buzzed-about VP contenders to rally Romney supporters in swing states.
But this afternoon, the campaign added a surprise name to the list: Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi.
According to a campaign release, Bondi will travel miles away from her home state on Saturday to stump for Romney at three stops in New Hampshire, including a Women for Mitt Kickoff Breakfast in Concord, and campaign office openings in Bedford and Stratham.

(17,651 posts)no offense to this woman but...
Here's why Bondi might be on Romney's shortlist:
She's a woman. And she's young. While the Romney campaign is said to be looking for experience and gravitas, there are obvious demographic advantages to picking someone who can appeal to women and young people.
She's from Florida. Bondi could give Romney a much-needed advantage in the crucial swing state.
She tried to take down Obamacare and almost won. Bondi was the lead attorney general in the lawsuit to overturn the Affordable Care Act. With her as VP, Romney would have one less problem to deal with.
She's really pretty.

Yea we got all the reasons why he's floating her but this will not fly for the majority of Americans.
This campaign is like witnessing a train wreck.

(11,362 posts)The reason for choosing a young woman has nothing to do with appealing to women and young people. It has to do with appealing to men.
Just what the republicans need: a "booth babe".

IMHO: Her selection would head down the same road of Katherine Harris, Sarah Palin and Harriet Meyers. It would say one thing loud and clear, Romney cannot get anyone to join his ticket.
Edited to add:
If the GOP moves Bondi up this quickly it would kill their argument for the no doubt political advancement of Kamala Harris who is surely to advance to higher office...(Soon) Imo

(18,656 posts)Bondi was married to Garret Barnes from 1990 to 1992, and to Scott Fitzgerald from 1997 to 2002. She is currently engaged to ophthalmologist Greg Henderson, but a wedding scheduled to take place in the Cayman Islands on May 26, 2012, was apparently called off at the last minute.[8]

Ranked 119th among law schools nationally. Over the past dozen years, the school's advocacy program has been ranked first in the nation eight times, and second three times.
Stetson fielded the 2009 American Association for Justice National Champion Trial Team, placing first out of 248 squads from 147 law schools. Stetson has won the AAJ National Championship 4 times.[5]
The Stetson Law School team was the 2004-2005 world champions at the 12th Annual Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot Competition, the first U.S. law school to win since 1996, receiving Frederic Eisemann Award (i.e., prevailing team in orals) for winning. Stetson defeated the University of Vienna for the gold.

That would leave HER in charge if something happens to HIM. She does not look Presidential to me. She looks like a Faux Snooze news anchor.
HRC looks Presidential to me. Someone with experience, maturity, and brilliance.
We don't need to watch the screwy machinations of a blond Sarah Palin, although it would be a gift to Jon Stewart and Bill Mahar.
