So Rachel just mentioned the house intel Committee has learned that Trump was negotiating with a sanctioned Russian bank during the election. I find those kind of facts interesting, despite whatever noise there might be.

John King massacres the MSNBC guy in terms of voting analysis.

The MSNBC guy is the equivalent of Gus Johnson, the sports broadcaster who never saw a play he couldn't describe with a scream and rant.

is bad journalism.
"it's watch the horse race, not the real news" stuff
It's a special election that won't change House control and the seat will be gone in 9 months.
Yes, it's a harbinger of November story at best that gets a segment later to look at results and future effects, Blue Wave etc
I mean The President fired his Sec. of State via Twitter today!
bad choice CNN.

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.bloombergquint.com/onweb/2016/08/23/trump-s-debt-to-brilliant-rachel-maddow.amp

"I watch her show every night,” Bannon told me. “I’m a huge fan.”

....

He grew to admire Maddow’s signature polemical style, in which she marshals reams of hard evidence to build a crescendoing fact-based indictment of her target. “I think the way she goes through stuff is brilliant,” Bannon exulted. “I won’t say I agree with it. But we study Huffington Post, we study Maddow. We don’t study the right. We study the best from the left. That’s who we try to model ourselves after.”
....

He has no qualms about crediting Maddow for inspiration. “[We] deconstruct her show basically every day to look for insights,” he told me. “She leaves marks on people.”.....(more)

He is bewildered that anyone could believe Trump is dragging down Republicans nationwide.

But he gives Trump full credit for showing up at the last minute and tightening the race.

I guess there's an ongoing stupidity requirement to belong to that party.
