It's not "normalizing" that the Shock Threshold is fading away. I will go into blissful shock when TWITLER is the one who is GONE. Hopefully, it will be him being chased barefoot down marble halls like a Roman emperor.
Whenever the yakkers on cable have gone into their seizures of how this-or-that staff departure will lead to an "adult" or whatever: There is NO "improvement" possible in TWITLER's cartel crew. Like when they yammer about "a campaign promise" being accomplished: NOBODY WANTS his jerk promises, not even his zombie supporters who actually know they are FEELING DIRTY by their support.
It was actually funny watching Andrea MITCHELL pretending to act shocked in reciting the TILLERSON firing.
The real shock throughout this whole period of TWITLER deplorableness is having the fraud of "human nature" being exposed, how the political party and the congresscritters and the office seekers are willing to DEMEAN themselves shamelessly for greed and favor of the scum cartel emperor. How would the head of EXXON (not a grace itself) be willing to demean himself to a future certain humiliation by accepting an office for this Deplorable creep, not to mention the Repuke House committee publicly declaring its "investigation" exonerated him? It's the CRAVENNESS that is shocking.
Old countries have known these things for thousands of years, which is why they collaborate with petty overlords and shrug it off whenever a new tinpot takes over their country. There was an article a few months ago about an Italian artist or whatever who told the reporter she had nothing to say about politics, lived only in the context of her apartment building and neighborhood, doesn't engage anything outside of that.

(63,883 posts)continuation of our most cherished agencies that protect us are being dismantled by an idiot who is doing the bidding of his Russian overlord. It is no secret how Putin hated our State Department.
A few weeks ago Putin said our politics are "unpredictable" and "eating itself" that is because he orchestrated the demise of our political system.

(1,009 posts)I was convinced Tillerson was a Putin puppet/loyalist.
Now I see he was just a useful idiot who didn't see the signs. Pretty sad for a former Exxon CEO.

(70,711 posts)All of SHITLER's cartel mob members are useful idiots, since they are subject to his every whim and get zero loyalty from him. While the usual motives of the majority of the useful idiots are pure greed and power, TILLERSON provided a veneer of respectability (as much as EXXON can provide) and there is a slim possibility he (unlike the others) accepted being flunky to him from the motive of serving the country. Just trading in being a powerful boss was a step down and he was subjected to humiliation from beginning to end, which might be daily signs hard not to see.
