Tillerson learned he was fired from Trump tweet

Secretary of State Rex Tillerson reportedly found out that he was fired due to the tweet that President Donald Trump sent out Tuesday, CNN said on air Tuesday.

“Mike Pompeo, Director of the CIA, will become our new Secretary of State. He will do a fantastic job!” Trump tweeted at 8:44 a.m. EST. “Thank you to Rex Tillerson for his service! Gina Haspel will become the new Director of the CIA, and the first woman so chosen. Congratulations to all!”

The State Department had to scramble to send out a statement that proved to be incredibly awkward.

Tillerson “had every intention of staying” at his job before he was fired. The statement explained. He said that he “did not speak to the president and is unaware of the reason” for his firing.”
The State Department has confirmed the fact.
