I guess there is something to be said for just being a friend.

I also wonder about the language barrier, but maybe, like you say, Kim Jong-Un is just grateful for a friend. He can't have too many. And maybe Kim Jong-Un is a basketball fan too!

He was also a basketball player while he was there. I imagine he speaks English.

I just found that out today on the news.

And that also explains his affinity for Dennis Rodman. I still don't get Dennis Rodman's interest in Kim Jong-Un. but then he's always marched to the beat of a different drummer.

All of a sudden he was back in the world’s limelight. Maybe he craves the outraged attention just like Trump does. He’s probably a narcissist too. Just not a criminal to boot.

All just speculation on my part.

I imagine sports stars get addicted to the limelight, too. Some of them become commentators or appear in commercials while Dennis Rodman found his own unique way to regain national attention.

According to Rueters, both he and his father carried fake Brazilian Passports stamped "Embassy of Brazil in Prague"
The name on the passport was Josef Pwag

Do you know? His weight makes him look to be about 5'9" at the most. Not really ideal for basketball.

We spoke for around 20 minutes and exchanged contact info. I wrote an article that promoted some charity he was working on.

I can only guess that both these guys have problems finding others who simply treat them as normal human beings and friends. Kim probably has no one like that in NK. Everyone there I am sure is afraid he is going to kill them if he gets upset with them, and Rodman has celebrity and reputation here.
