I use the scare quotes to distinguish from conservatives. "Conservatives" are to the right of conservatives. What's to the right of Conservatives? Fascists.
This ideology is dangerous. I don't need to explain. The lurking know nothings will pick this up, as they always do.
There are some good books. Joshua Green's, David Cay Johnston's, for examples. I have been reading The Evangelicals and it provides a great deal of context. There are other bits and pieces but I see no over arching organization. Given the urgency of this catastrophe it seems to me we could be more focused.
