As the battle between the United States and California over immigration makes its way in court, the war of words is just beginning.
The Justice Department sued California late Tuesday, alleging that state policies that prohibit some cooperation with federal immigration enforcement are unconstitutional.
California Attorney General Xavier Becerra fired back hours later, saying his state should not be forced to do the federal job of trying to enforce immigration laws.
"We're not gonna have them coerce us into doing things that they want us to do simply because they don't want to do it them themselves," he told CNN's Anderson Cooper on Wednesday night.

This will be decided by the courts deciding where the boundary between the states and federal government is in this matter.

(51,623 posts)that this is going to cost the taxpayers in the state money due to a long lawsuit. This is what the Moron has done his whole life...sue everyone until they are broke from legal fees due to ridiculous lawsuits (such as never paying his workers what he owes them and he does them!). He sued Bill Maher over something stupid and even though he won Maher still had to pay all those legal fees. Fucking Moron! I hope the porn star sues the "pants off of him" (financially, not literally this time).
