Baltimore mayor faces off with Laura Ingraham over gun protest march in heated exchange

BY AVERY ANAPOL - 03/08/18 09:13 AM EST

Baltimore Mayor Catherine Pugh (D) butted heads with Fox News’s Laura Ingraham Wednesday night over Pugh’s decision to provide free buses to take students to the gun protest march in nearby Washington, D.C. later this month.

Pugh announced earlier in the day that she would provide 60 buses in hopes of sending 3,000 students to the “March for Our Lives,” the rally organized by the survivors of the high school shooting in Parkland, Fla.

Ingraham questioned why Pugh was funding the buses to “assist student activists” amid declining enrollment, personnel layoffs and a high deficit in the Baltimore public school system.

Pugh pushed back, saying that the buses would partly be funded through private donations and would benefit both public and private school students.
