Here is my take on Nunberg's ill fated attempts to defying Mueller?

He is nuts? He afraid of whoever is whispering in his ear? Or maybe(this is stretch, but worthy), Mueller knows that Nunberg is up to his eyebrows involved with Russia, Trump and others! Mueller is going let Nunberg to trip himself up and take others with him? No matter for what his reasons are, Nunberg has literally spilled the beans that was over flowing the can already! He is running around telling what knows? Why? Maybe he feels that he can save Stone & himself from future punishment!

1. Every chain has a weak link.

Gates is one, Nunberg may be another. Trump would be the weakest if he were allowed to testify or be questioned by Mueller.

2. I think it's a ploy

By acting out all day on TV news shows, he appears extremely unstable. Therefore, his testimony will not be found reliable. He must have witnessed some really important stuff.

3. Sounds to me like he wants protection.

He’s afraid and figures prison is safer for him right now.
He’s on all the TV stations to get public attention and make an attack more difficult.
