Just FYI to the more pro-gun folks. Homicides went up in US in 2015, 2016 and 2017

After a long decline, homicides are going up. The chief contributor to the increase is murder using firearms. Data is preliminary for 2017 so I don't have the specific numbers to list here. Take note below:
Weapons..............................2010...........2011...........2012..........2013...........2014...........2015...........2016

Total homicides...................13,164........12,795........12,888........12,253........11,961........13,455........15,070

Total firearms.......................8,874..........8,653..........8,897.........8,454..........8,124..........9,616........11,004

Knives or cutting instruments..1,732.........1,716..........1,604..........1,490.........1,567..........1,544..........1,604

Homicides with firearms went from about 67% of all homicides to 73% of all homicides from 2010 to 216.
I only list the #2 weapon used in homicides which are knives/stabbing and they went from 13% of all homicides to 10% in the same period.

One can extrapolate that all other methods used in homicides pale in comparison.

And their data stopped at 2014–right before the sharp increases starting in 2015.

Also, I want people to see the magnitude of death via gun relative to even #2 on the list.
