On MSNBC just now: Another republican NRA apologist.

There was a republican congressman on just now with Morning Joe and he made me sick!

What a fucking asshole. This was his argument: "The weapons we used in Vietnam were far more lethal and an AR-15 looks like a military weapon because of cosmetics"

That was his argument for not banning semi-automatic weapons. They were fine because they can't kill as many people as an M-16.

Then he launched into the tired litany of kids playing the wrong kind of video games and schools not adequately addressing bullying.

I despise these people and their twisted view of the world.

weapons. So loud that Joe had to figuratively pull him off of Steve S (can't remember his last name). "Let's not be disrespectful," blah blah.

I don't think any of them addressed the lethality of the AR due to the bullets tearing up the surrounding tissues and turning a body into hamburger.

Should always be the first question to ask assholes like him. Donny Deutch was good. Joe enabled him, as usual.

DonnY Deutsch is right. That's the way to cut this crap off.

Some of these "people", I'm afraid, need to see the carnage up close and personal to get a clue, though I certainly am NOT suggesting I want more violence to occur to them or anyone.

There’s not a helluva lot of difference in the effects of a .223 round which is used in the AR-15 and a standard 5.56 NATO round used in the M-16/M-1...both rounds are meant for killing

6. Always the video games

I played the most violent video games growing up as a kid, I had/have severe depression. And never once have I thought about picking up a gun and killing someone. I even went shooting as a kid almost all the time, I still enjoy shooting to this day. Video games/music/movies...whatever is always the scapegoat. People know it is.

As for bullying, I can agree that it isn't being addressed more, but these people don't know what goes on at home. But...what a shit argument.

about the millions that have to have one, two, three or more.

For those reasons, I believe this is the quickest and, perhaps, most effective way to stop proliferation of these weapons:
