Mitt: China's free enterprise "strength" has been "borrowed in some respects from our nation"

An awkward attempt at patriotic jingoism from Mitt Romneybot

by Jed Lewison

Mitt Romney's Babel fish translator must be malfunctioning:

Yeah, something's definitely gone haywire in that CPU of his. Otherwise, how else do you explain Mitt using these words in this order in the same sentence?

Our nation's leadership has been perhaps the greatest source of a national entity's good that you've seen on the world stage.

"Greatest source of a national entity's good"? I mean, it's not that hard to figure out what he was trying to say ... but who actually says it like that? Mitt Romney, that's who, I guess.

Full quote cited in clip:

M. ROMNEY:...I think our nation's leadership has been perhaps the greatest source of a national entity's good that you've seen on the world stage, freeing people from tyrants, spreading free enterprise and lifting people out of poverty, even in places like China. A great portion of China's strength today is the free enterprise system, which has been borrowed in some respects from our nation.

"Borrowed"?

"In some repects" it's outsourcing by you, Mitt.

Made in China: Olympic Pin Shaped Like Mitt Romney’s Face

<...>

When Romney’s Salt Lake Organizing Committee developed the Gateway plaza in Salt Lake City, offering patrons and residents the chance to buy bricks for $100 and have their names inscribed, the committee used granite bricks from China, despite an abundance of granite in the nearby Wasatch mountains, the Salt Lake Tribune reported at the time.

“It’s extraordinary,” Romney told the paper, “but it’s cheaper to get it from China.”

A great portion of China's strength today is the free enterprise system, which has been
borrowed in some respects from our nation.

That statement is wrong on some levels.

I've often opined that China exhibits many of the worst characteristics of capitalism and communism in one system

I guess you could call it fascism.

"The capitalists will sell us the rope with which we will hang them." V.I. Lenin

But, the Chinese aren't going to hang us, we're committing suicide.
