Shout out to former High School and College Debaters

I did both - actually - "Big time" in my day.

I think it is one of the things that is making Parkland students effective. They know how to make a case and defend it. Perhaps debate classes are partly responsible.

Debate is one of the best things I did in high school. I wasn't very good, but it helped me to overcome my shyness.

take at least one debate class. I do not know how many end up competing at tournaments. But even if it just classroom, the difference shows.

Emma Gonzales credited her teacher and class for her skills explicitly.
She also said she plans to learn more and be better prepared to answer
'giving them the proper clap-back that they deserve', as she said.
