Teacher brings gun to school and Shots were fired at Georgia Dalton High School

LINK

A teacher fired at least one shot through a classroom window at Dalton High School Wednesday. Police say a witness heard gunfire and reportedly called police.

The teacher has been identified by police as Jesse Randal Davidson, a socials studies teacher who also serves as play-by play announcer for the Dalton High School football team.

At least one shot was fired from his handgun, according to Dalton police. No students were in the classroom, according to police. The weapon has been recovered.

The Gun Nuts in my area are getting crazy and I'm willing to bet that this teacher was a Trump supporter, that took Trump's recommendation to arm teachers to heart.

Thank goodness no one was injured.

He pulled this stunt to draw attention to the foolishness of arming our teachers. Either way, it wasn't the smartest move he'll make today.

Perhaps idiot cases like this will help to curb enthusiasm for arming teachers. Probably not, but I can hope.

DALTON, Ga. -- A teacher is in custody after police say he barricaded himself inside a classroom at a high school in northwest Georgia Wednesday, police say.

Police responded to the report of shot or shots fired at Dalton High School in Dalton and reported via Twitter that a person, believed to be a teacher, was barricaded inside. A Dalton police spokesperson told CBS News the teacher had a gun.

CBS affiliate WDEF reports the situation began around 11:30 a.m. when the teacher blocked students from entering his class. When the principal tried to unlock the door, they heard a gunshot inside and the school was evacuated.

If so, that's his license to pull his piece and discharge it in just about any manner he sees fit. What's everyone getting so excited about?
