Marco Rubio slams teens as 'infected' by 'arrogance and boasting' as his approval rating plummets

Florida Sen. Marco Rubio (R) was torn apart on live TV last week during a CNN town hall with Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting survivors, and it appears voters were paying attention. In a new Quinnipiac Poll conducted in the days immediately following the town hall, between Feb. 23-26, Rubio held an approval rating of just 38 percent, with 53 percent disapproving of his job in office.

The numbers mark Rubio's lowest approval rating since he joined the Senate in 2011. "Democrats hate every fiber of his being," explains the Miami New Times, "but he's also relatively unpopular amid the far-right Breitbart/Steve Bannon/conspiratorial loon crowd, which hates him for the few centrist stances he's taken in his short career."

With apparently nothing to lose, Rubio slammed teenagers in a tweet Wednesday. "Trashing the Parkland kids like this is probably not going to help those numbers," observed Democratic consultant Brian Fallon.

The debate after #Parkland reminds us We The People don’t really like each other very much.We smear those who refuse to agree with us.We claim a Judea-Christian heritage but celebrate arrogance & boasting. & worst of all we have infected the next generation with the same disease

I don't think his fellow Republicans will appreciate the spot-on description of his own party's behavior though.

About Obama:
"He has divided this country deliberately for political gain," Rubio (R-Fla.) said Wednesday morning in a campaign speech in Charleston, S.C.. Obama "doesn't believe in the Constitution the way you and I do," Rubio said. He added that Obama doesn't believe in America as a great ...

Or so I thought.

Especially when Rubio stated that millions of people "buy into his agenda", never should have used the words 'buy into'!

It's his side that makes the false claim of having a "Judea-Christian&quot he can't even get that right, it's Judeo) heritage, and it's the head of his own party that celebrates arrogance and boasting!!!

are a no no in Christianity. Particularly with young people or children. Those words are code to the religious right. Rubio is inserting religion as if to say Christianity is on his side. What a prick.

This is what he is referring to.
