Can We Have a Check-In, Please?

Is there anyone here who got that “on average” $4,000-per-year tax break – or even close to it?

Is there anyone here who got a tax-cut that will pay for a kitchen remodel, a new car, or a family vacation?

Is there anyone here who has checked the taxes being withheld from their paycheques –only to find that they are now under-paying the taxes they will be liable for when they file next April?

Is there anyone here who has calculated their Trump tax break, compared it to what they won’t be able to deduct, and have come out “ahead” of where they were before these “massive tax-cuts” took effect?

Is there anyone here who works for ANY corporation that has used its tax cut to increase workers’ wages, or to pay more than minimum wage to their minimum wage employees?

Is there anyone here whose life has been changed by Trump’s “massive tax cuts”, who can now afford things they couldn’t afford before, who are now financially secure enough to promise to put their kid through college, law school, medical school?

Is there ANYONE anywhere who has benefited from Trump’s “tax cut” – aside from the already-wealthiest individuals, the already-wealthiest corporations, the already-wealthiest politicians?

ANYONE?

Bueller?

The shit won't hit the fan until next April, when people file their taxes and realize they've been shafted.

The Republicans, including Trump's "base", turn a blind eye to all kinds of things - even collusion with the Russians. But when his policies hit home in the form of a promised a "massive tax cut for the middle-class" that doesn't materialize, minds will be changed.

Republican voters are dumbasses when it comes to most things, but - amazingly enough! - a lot of them can count. And they will.

in the 2018 midterms, and voters are able to understand promises that they're should get some money out of this. Massively incompetent as this congress is, we know the tax heist is meant to bribe with one hand and take away with the other.

Although Texas, where I get my salary paid, has no state income tax, and Germany takes over 50% of my income anyway, Germany does recognize charitable contributions, so the changes have affected me to the tune of exactly zero dollars (or euros).

We had more in our Feb paychecks but our tax guy said if we did not have them take an extra amount out every month we would owe at the end of the year. Our withholding has been spot on the past ten years. I think these tables are smoke and mirrors so people think they are getting more so the vote for republicans in the fall before they find out they owe.

the world to negotiate business deals that don’t benefit the president in any manner whatsoever.../s Oh yeah and to pay for elected official Ivanka Trump to represent us in places like South Korea, where diplomacy and a deep understanding of protocol is quite important. Ivanka is obviously the perfect person for the jon! This doesn’t look like a third world dictatorship at all! /s (again just in case anyone thinks I meant this seriously).

Ben Carson, according to a story I saw last night, is trying to demand that his office be filled with HUGELY expensive decor including a chair that costs around $5,000 and a sofa or something similar that cost some insane amount (like $30,000). WTF is wrong with these people?!

when all of the fuss was originally raised. Overall it’s not significant at all in our monthly income. And it will be offset by paying more taxes. Chances are we will be paying MORE than we did last year (married with double income and no kids).

next year and instead of a $1500 return, I will owe between $900 and $1000, due to the elimination of personal exemption and caps on deductions. I have used itemized deductions for over 40 years and the new single standard deduction of $12,000 Is about half of my itemized ones.
