EXCLUSIVE: FedExs secret deal with the NRA and the gun industryWhile publicly trying to distance themselves from the NRA, FedEx has made a secret agreement with the association and other major players in the firearms industry.
................
.......FedExs decision to stand by the NRA probably has less to do with shipping NRA polo shirts than a much more profitable business: shipping guns.
In a stark contrast with FedExs recent attempts to distance themselves from the gun lobby, the internal company document obtained by ThinkProgress outlines in great detail precisely how FedEx has secretly agreed to bend its own rules on gun shipments for powerful forces in the gun industry, including all major gun manufacturers and the NRA itself.
The document, labeled Confidential information. Internal use only, was provided to ThinkProgress by a FedEx employee, who asked to remain anonymous due to concern that disclosing the document would cause the source to be terminated.
The United States Postal Service (USPS) wont mail handguns except under certain rare circumstances, mostly for relic collection and museum purposes, meaning almost all handgun shipments need to go through either the United Parcel Service (UPS) or FedEx.
UPS requires all handguns be shipped overnight, according to their website.
FedExs public policy, like UPSs, is that (f]irearms must be shipped via FedEx Priority Overnight service, according to the companys 2018 Service Guide, which also states that FedEx will not transport handguns via FedEx Ground.
But FedEx does not apply its public rules to everyone. According to the document, the company has struck a deal with dozens of major gun manufacturers and dealers in an effort to woo the industry away from competitors with lower cost shipping. The agreement, which has not been previously reported, shows how important the handgun shipment business is to FedEx.

It's hard not to see how obvious the NRA is as a toxic organization. They are clearly anti-public safety and perhaps part of a conspiracy against the United States in how they money laundered Russian funds in support of Donald tRump's, who was also in his own conspiracy with Russia.

(1,979 posts)I worked for them for 18 years. Back when i worked for them they were extremely anti-union as well. When I first started working for them they were very people-oriented, but that soon changed to being very profit and data oriented. People turned into numbers and your worth was judged by the data. That was enough for me and I moved on.

(25,263 posts)isn't there still a move by them to destroy the USPS? Could it be they wanted that business to go to FedEx?

(37,648 posts)Fedex probably gives discounts to many organizations, and signs contracts, to get their business.

(17,009 posts)I hope this gets picked up by every major news outlet. They are whores for the gun industry and deserve to lose the business of every other company. Kudos to the brave soul who works there and released this.

(4,642 posts)only Dealer FFL and after they have a shipping form on file. They will ship black powder pistols and pre 1898 antique pistols for individuals. Most pay an FFL dealer to ship for them, $15-30 + priority mail. Its costs around $65 to $75 to ship via ups or fedex.
