"SNIP.........
The Oath Keepers militia group on Monday issued an official call to action asking their members to serve as voluntary armed guards at U.S. schools, in order to intervene in the event of a mass shooting.
But the group doesnt seem to think much of some of the students they say they want to protect.
During a meandering Monday night webinar held by the far-right, anti-government group, the gun writer David Codrea referred to Emma González and David Hogg, survivors of the Valentines Day school shooting in Parkland, Florida as the enemy.
González and Hogg have been at the forefront of a student activist movement urging Congress to pass gun control legislation.

(118,778 posts)other than the very effective and moving schoolchildren themselves. Only for the NRA position. They need schools=SAFE PLACES right away to stop the blowback they are getting, and any gun control that might result.

(27,742 posts)"Socialists" as if that was a bad thing anyway. It takes almost nothing to rile up those dumb bastard oath assholes and the NRA knows how to do it. A few might show up at some school with guns all liquored up and the cops will chase them home.

(6,084 posts)Imagine my working friend calls up and tells me that the cafeteria ravioli disagreed with her kid and can I bring him home from school? (Yes, I'm on the list.) So, I hop in the car and drive over to the school, and as I'm walking in from the parking lot, there's this guy. I picture him in camo and carrying an AR-15, but he might be smart enough to wear a blazer and conceal his piece. So what does he do? Ask me for ID? Ask me what my business is at the school?
'Scuse me, but who the hell are you? You're not even on school property. A cop would have a badge and identify himself. You have ID?
If he tries to flash an Oathkeeper's ID, he can fuck off. If he shows a previously concealed weapon, he's guilty of assault and it's time to dial 911. If he was openly carrying, I've already called 911, reporting a possible shooter.
I don't get it.
