Norway plans to ban semi-automatic firearms as of 2021, nearly a decade after a right-wing extremist's mass shooting left 69 people dead. The minority right-wing government had presented the proposal, and there is a parliamentary majority in favor. Semi-automatic weapons will therefore be banned in Norway from 2021.

The massacre in Norway took place in 2011, when a right-wing extremist with a semi-automatic rifle killed 69 people, most of them teenagers who were attending a Labour Party youth camp. Before the camp attack, he had killed eight people in a bombing outside a government building in Oslo.

The bill allows for several exemptions, in particular for shooting sports. Many hunters in Norway use semi-automatic firearms, and it was not immediately clear how the new law would affect them.

I am not sure what you think a semi-auto gun is, but all that means is that it automatically loss the. Next round and has it ready to fire for you instead of having to manually manipulate an action.

They have been around for over 100 years and people have used them to hunt for just as long.

My dad uses a semi-auto to squirrel hunt because it lets him get a quick second shot off if he misses and has time before the squirrel is gone. He uses a semi-auto shotgun for duck hunting these days because in his 70’s he finds he’s not a fast with a pump as he used to be.

People use them deer hunting for the same reason. Allowing a faster follow up shot means if your first shot isn’t a clean kill you can get the second shot off faster, and that can mean the difference between getting that second shot right then or having to track a wounded deer a long way.

If your idea when you asked that was of a machine-gun spraying from the hip or any similar image the. Your idea of what a semi-auto is and does is probably way skewed from the reality.

People pushing that as the “norm” for what a semi-auto is are just as dishonest and agenda driven as people who paint all Muslims as terrorists or all undocumented immigrants as murderers and rapists.

And keep in mind a lot of the people we need to keep voting D in states like Michigan and Pennsylvania and North Carolina come from states with large amounts of guns and hunters and lots of them own semi-auto guns that don’t look like this and who know the truth. If you want to drive them away from us for the midterms and the next presiorace just keep going with this dishonest hyperbole and supporting bans on all semi-autos.

12. Keep calling people whose votes you need potential mass murders

Maybe go down to a union hall in PA right as hunting season is kicking off (in the heat of election season) and make sure to tell all the men and women there any of them with semi-auto guns are all “potential mass murderers” and you don’t care about their feelings and and don’t need their votes.

These midterms should be easy huge wins for us. Idiocy like this is going to put that in jeapordy, this kind of overboard zealotry only plays well in places where we already have the seats and does nothing but harm us in ones we are trying to swing.
