A donation star will remove ads, if you can, not everybody can.

(11,175 posts)It may be that the algorithm searches the whole site. There are certainly posts on DU about the Confederate battle flag, and such algorithms tend to be literal-minded, paying no attention to context.

If an ad is offensive, or not appropriate for DU, the admins can have it blocked. But just complaining about it in GD won't get it blocked - either email it to the admins, or report it in ATA.
