State of Kansas has no rules governing who can run for Governor. So far six high school students

are currently running. In the 150 years that Kansas has been around, no one ever thought an age requirement or resident requirement was necessary, it appears. A bill passed last week includes a requirement that a candidate be at least 18 yrs old and require a candidate to actually live in the State of Kansas. However, it will not go into affect until after November's election so it won't affect the current group of candidates running.

So I guess if I wanted to be the Governor of Kansas, but I don't want to live in that crappy state, I can do it, and I've still got time to sign up to run. My question would be what are the requirements to vote in Kansas since up until last week, there was no age requirement to run for the highest executive office in the state, and there was no requirement to live in the state and neither of those things will change before the next election in November?

Geez, and these people have 2 senators and at least 1 representative and no one up until was smart enough to conclude that maybe we need some rules for people wanting to run for Governor. The worse part of this is that it probably would not even be an issue had those 6 high schoolers not decided to run for Governor.
