(17,622 posts)two 14 yr old boys and a teacher dead. A fellow student mad at another student came to school with a gun ( NOT an assault rifle)..and shot the intended target and two others who happened to be in the room.
In 1997 my Golden Retriever, Charlie, died waiting at the front door for me to come home from work. The next day..at the urging of my vet..hubby and I drove to Moses Lake Washington (an hr away) to look at a litter of Golden Retriever pups. The owner of the litter was the father of Arnie Fritz..one of the young boys killed in the shooting. Arnie had started raising Goldens the year he was killed..as a way to earn money for college. After Arnies death his father continued his sons project and the litter of pups we were looking at was a from one of the original pups Arnie was raising to breed.
Nothing has been done to stop the carnage in the last 20 years!

(10,053 posts)You see this kind of madness happen again and again again and you fear that it will hit close to home. Then one day it doesn't just hit close to home, it actually hits home. We are heartbroken here in Broward County. And angry! And proud of our student survivors that are organizing and mobilizing for change!
