Tillerson, Kelly internally complain about Kushner encroachments: report
By Julia Manchester - 02/26/18 10:09 AM EST
Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and White House chief of staff John Kelly have voiced frustration about Jared Kushner's encroachment on Tillerson's position, according to a report from Politico.
Tillerson is reportedly frustrated with Kushner's involvement in foreign affairs, which are usually handled by the nation's diplomatic corps. Kushner, however, has been responsible for Israeli-Palestinian relations, as well as U.S. relations with Mexico and China.
Tillerson has also reportedly expressed frustration about U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley and National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster about what he reportedly sees as an encroachment on his position.
We cant have four secretaries of state, the secretary of state said.

(30,674 posts)just saying, he sure has the opportunity and why wouldn't he? It's not even illegal, since he doesn't have clearances anyway. (Right?)

(7,432 posts)It's not Kushner. It's not Haley. It's TRUMPY!
So when are McMaster and Tillerson and Kelly going to work up the gumption to blow a goodbye kiss to Trumpy and give him the one-finger salute on their way out the door.
This is especially true of Kelly, who's being diminished to the status of a White House lawn jockey because his "edict" against temporary clearances is being stuffed by his boss. Kelly can't get enough derision and degradation, and apparently wants more, for reasons unknown. When this clown show finally gets busted, Kelly will likely NEVER see another public service job come his way. Maybe he'll join Omarosa for a reality TV stint, or he'll become a "contributor" to FNC. That's about where his career ends.

(10,749 posts)For otherwise powerful, accomplished men, Kelly/Tillerson/et al sure seem utterly weak and pathetic in their current positions. They whine and complain more than anything else. And they are fucking cowards. Of course, they are trump nominees, so we know from the start that despite their backgrounds, they really are not very good people.

(10,252 posts)and make a big stink about it on the way out. You would be doing your country more good than what you're doing now. You could also start lobbing the cabinet to invoke the 25th amendment. But you won't do either, because you still work for Exxon, not the USA.

(3,268 posts)Because I love the mental image of someone lobbing Trump's cabinet around! "And keep tossing then until they invoke the 25th!!!!"
