Is it just me, or does the NRA seem to exert influence far beyond that which you could reasonably expect from the size of its membership (no matter how fanatical), their dues, and contributions from the gun makers? It's like there's a huge cloud of dark money out there -- you can't see it, but its gravitational pull is obvious. And, maybe, just maybe, their influence isn't only about the money.

Just sayin'.
