She compared the White House to a plantation, said that the president tweets in his underwear and that the situation inside 1600 Penn was bad, like so bad. But none of those True White House Confessions helped reality show legend Omarosa Manigault Newman win Celebrity Big Brother.
It has been a headline-making ride for the reality star turned White House staffer, who on Sunday night was evicted from the Celebrity Big Brother house during the two-hour finale. And in true Omarosa fashion, there was plenty of melodrama in her final moments.
With her potential eviction looming, she had one last chance to plead her case in front of the four other remaining houseguests. The speech that followed was equal parts stump and sermon.
We are facing a pivotal moment in this country, but we cannot allow hatred, division and bigotry to tear us down, Omarosa said. We are one nation under God, and with the power of the vote, the ballot and bringing our diversity to allow us to unite, we can change this country to be together, united under God.

(25,862 posts)is actual reality.
I have more than once gotten in to heated arguments with people who believe that what is on TV is real. Scary.
The fact that I don't own a TV and don't spend my day with a TV tuned to Fox or CNN or any other outlet means that I have hours and hours every day to do other things. Read books, for instance.
In the mid 1970s I was in my second phase of no TV. (I'm currently in my fourth and probably permanent no TV phase) One of my coworkers was genuinely concerned (and I sincerely appreciate his concern here) that I was so cut off from what was going on in the world that I simply didn't know what was going on. So he'd quiz me about stuff. To his astonishment I not only knew (for the most part) what was going on, but I could fill him in on additional details. Because I read Time and Newsweek. Plus the Washington Post. We lived in the DC area. Also books. I read books about all sorts of stuff.
Right now I don't own a TV. But I watch a goodly amount of television because so much is available on the internet. Yay! What I like about no regular TV is no commercials. Wow. Not only am I disconnected from the constant barrage of BUY BUY BUY, but I'm also not subject to the weird and disturbing "You might have this disease" ads. I am also completely exempt from political advertising. Do you have any idea how amazing that is in a political year? Although recently the interwebs have figured out where I am and I'm occasionally subject to ads from someone running for mayor in my city. Sigh.
For a very long time, when I was in a hotel room, I'd watch TV. Sort of a reflex. But since I've gotten used to no commercials, after a while regular TV made me crazy. For about three or four years now, a TV in my hotel room is simply invisible. I probably haven't turned one on in a year or more. And I stay in hotels at least five or six times a year.
And when some kind of breaking news happens, I'm not at all out of the loop. I will google TV stations in that city, and usually at least one, and often several, will have gone to live streaming. I do love the internet.

except for the few hours he leaves the upper residence.

(1,896 posts)This is a news item in the Boston Globe? People think this is worth watching? People think any of this is important? No wonder Trump is our president. It also explains exactly why Russian trolls could alter public opinion with a bunch of fake news items and facebook posts.

The equivalent temperature spike would be Washington DC hitting 105F in February.
But look! Omorosa!!!
