Effort to relocate monument generates no interest (GA)

DeKalb County hasn’t received any proposals for relocating a Confederate monument located at the old county courthouse.

As a result, the deadline for submissions was extended 30 days. Zachary Williams, the county’s chief operating officer, said outreach efforts like newspaper ads are being planned in hopes of creating leads.

DeKalb’s Board of Commissioners approved a plan in January to allow a private entity like a museum or nonprofit to relocate the monument. Interested groups must agree to keep the monument on public display and provide contextual information that explains its place in history ...

damn thing. Decatur is a really neat part of Atlanta.
