That these guns do not belong on the streets. The professionals know they are overmatched.

Why didn't the others go in? And I think the answer lies in a well-trained police force vs military grade weapons.

I'm against assault weapons but come on.....4 or 5 of them waiting around while kids getting slaughtered? And a football coach ran toward the gun fire to save the kids and died?? Sounds like the football coach had more training and was less cowardly. Sad

meanwhile kids were bleeding out

see link above and read the article

THIS is why semi-automatic weapons do not belong in the hands of every tom, dic, and harry.

The police know they will die if they get i. shooters way.

One failing is a failure of the individual. Four? That’s a huge systemic issue.

Who was the senior officer there? I hope not the SRO.

Police are trained to protect themselves first, that's why they shoot so many unarmed people.

If we are going to allow people to have military type weapons then the police need to act like soldiers and put the mission (safety of the people) first. That's not what's happening right now, virtually everywhere. If I was a city council person or mayor, I would sit down with the police commanders to make sure they know their jobs. And if they don't get it, fire them.

You can’t tell a handgun from a rifle or what type when it’s fired inside a building and you are outside.

maybe all enter thru different entrances while staying in contact with each other, take cover and wait to engage the shooter as he moved through the building.

I mean being a cop requires some degree of courage, right?

You know, the whole "protect and serve" thing.
