Been feeling overwhelmed earlier and earlier in the week. Popping in a movie break helps a bit.

(67,111 posts)his smell. In the evenings we watch movies. tRump is probably the grossest spectacle of a high level politician I've encountered in the US, but I'm sure there have been worse, well maybe, but I can't think of one.

(15,124 posts)Get off the artificially accelerated schedule we often feel obligated to live by and try to hitch a ride with nature for a few hours. Walk in the woods. Sit on a log and feel the cool dampness of bark on your butt. Look at the biggest tree near you and consider how long it took to grow to that size. Think of all those you know, living and dead, who have shared the earth with that tree.
Watch the birds; the squirrels; the deer if you are so fortunate.
Listen: to the breeze; to the rain; to the geese overhead.
Everything just mentioned moves to the rhythm of the forest; the earth; the universe. THIS is real. THIS is vital.
Smile. Return to your labors knowing that that tree will likely outlive you. And, that's OK.
