16. I'm 59 and i've never been to Boston, and I'm quite adept in my country's history.

Though I plan to go there soon now that i'm retired. I've also never been on house arrest and it would seem to me that the purpose of 'house arrest' would mean that "hell NO, you can't go on no damn vacation". Your kids have a Mother I presume. She can take them, or else you can go when you get off of house arrest. Boston will still be in Massachusetts, and America's early history won't have changed much by then.
