Broad Solutions for Widespread Problems
In the wake of the latest tragedy, we are rightly focusing energy on preventing more gun violence in schools.
But never forget, schools are not the only target.
Don't allow the narrative to be limited. We need solutions that work everywhere.
The concept of arming teachers is idiotic and dangerous. But even as a stupid solution. it falls way short of actually addressing the extent of the problem.
What about the movies, concerts, stores, restaurants, malls, colleges, workplaces, libraries, etc. etc. etc.
Broad limitations on guns are the only solutions that help us everywhere Things such as banning assault weapons, limiting capacity, restricting age, strong background checks, mental health limitations, waiting periods, etc. are the things that will protect children and adults everywhere.
