The snake story!

'Rump has once again told his version of the The Farmer and the Viper which has roots in Latin and Greek.
I have forgotten the wording by Aesop and went looking for it. I got hung up on Wikipedia reading about the origin of this story.

In the version by Phaedrus the snake says that he bit his benefactor "to teach the lesson not to expect a reward from the wicked." I wonder who might be characterized that way. Could it be? Could it be him? Is 'Rump the snake?
