You've Got Us Beat, GOP

It would be foolish not to admit that there are certain things that you Republicans do better than Democrats – and when it comes to those certain things, you whup our asses every time. And the events of the past week drove that point home yet again.

We could never beat you Republicans when it comes to responding to an event like Parkland by accusing grief-stricken students of being “crisis actors”, or pawns being manipulated by Democrats in order to further a political agenda.

Honestly, if we culled all of our resources, tapped every think tank, gathered our most respected leaders and asked for their input, we still couldn’t have come up with anything that vile, that low, that lacking in human decency. If we spent twenty-four hours of every day mulling it over for a decade, I doubt we could have created a narrative so astoundingly offensive.

There is no circumstance in which anyone from our side of the aisle would mock the emotional pain of parents who just lost a child, or children who witnessed their schoolmates being gunned-down.

I cannot even imagine a situation which would prompt Democrats to actually send death threats to the survivors of a massacre such as took place in Parkland, in order to silence them – in order to literally threaten their lives in much the same way a crazed gunman had just threatened to take their lives in the halls of their own school, and did take the lives of their teachers and their best friends.

So yes, Republicans, you have beat us yet again. You have stooped lower than we would even consider, no less be willing to go. You have demonstrated a lack of compassion that decent people can’t even fathom. Once more, you have shown yourselves to be heartless deplorables – as if further proof were necessary of just how deplorable you really are.

Oh, and just in case you’re wondering about the other things you do better than Democrats, you also beat the shit out of us when it comes to being racists, bigots, hypocrites, and stupid beyond all imagining.

that would imply that he's a leader. What I do see is dRump as the logical outcome of decades of destructive, slimy, self-involved, egolomaniacal, and last but not least toxic patriachal behavior on the part of the radical right.

It's as though they spent years dumping a toxic brew into a huge cauldron and finely out popped Trumplethinskin.

Role model no, avatar for what the republican party has become, hell yes.

at the C-PAC this morning (after he was kept off the published agenda and the press was told that the NRA thought it would be in poor tastes if he showed up after the shooting) I listened and posted my summary of what he said. Same old BS talking points. This year they really outdid themselves though. It was a new low, even for them. I think they want to instigate a civil war. They will profit from it of course, but no one will be left to buy their weapons. Not very good planning.

Is that overstating it? I'd willingly stipulate that there is an above-average number sociopaths and psychopaths in their ranks, but it's hard to imagine that literally tens of millions of one's fellow citizens have major psych disorders.

What the hell is it?

30. On Sandy Hook
Fri Feb 23, 2018, 10:39 AM
Feb 2018

Believe it or not, in 2014 the Connecticut state Republican Party nominated a “Sandy Hook Truther” for the Connecticut state Attorney General position, Martha Dean. Thankfully, she lost. But, this was in Connecticut, where Sandy Hook took place and her home town is maybe a one hour drive from Newtown.

As an FYI, several years prior to that, this same woman went through a rather ugly divorce and had a dispute with her now ex-husband. Their teen son had gotten accepted to a prestigious science summer camp and the husband sent him there, but she pulled him out of the science camp and sent him to some teenage guns and hunting camp. She sounds like a real peach.
