Bernie blames Hillary for allowing Russian interference
The senator and his top political adviser also denied Mueller's assertion that Russian actors backed his campaign.
By EDWARD-ISAAC DOVERE 02/21/2018 06:45 PM EST Updated 02/21/2018 09:48 PM EST

Bernie Sanders on Wednesday blamed Hillary Clinton for not doing more to stop the Russian attack on the last presidential election. Then his 2016 campaign manager, in an interview with POLITICO, said he’s seen no evidence to support special counsel Robert Mueller's assertion in an indictment last week that the Russian operation had backed Sanders' campaign.

The remarks showed Sanders, running for a third term and currently considered a front-runner for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2020, deeply defensive in response to questions posed to him about what was laid out in the indictment. He attempted to thread a response that blasts Donald Trump for refusing to acknowledge that Russians helped his campaign — but then holds himself harmless for a nearly identical denial.

In doing so, Sanders and his former campaign manager, Jeff Weaver, presented a series of self-serving statements that were not accurate, and that track with efforts by Trump and his supporters to undermine the credibility of the Mueller probe.

“The real question to be asked is what was the Clinton campaign [doing about Russian interference]? They had more information about this than we did,” Sanders said in the interview with Vermont Public Radio.

Here is the Warning Hillary gave us all, about Russia 2016 influence

http://people.com/politics/hillary-clinton-wikileaks-hack-debate-russia/

October 19, 2016 10:21 PM
Hillary Clinton was ready when the WikiLeaks hack of her campaign chairman, John Podesta, came up during the third and final presidential debate on Wednesday night.

After the moderator Chris Wallace quoted a line from a speech Clinton gave to a Brazilian bank – revealed in the hacked emails – the Democratic nominee took it as an opportunity to point out what she sees as the biggest takeaway from the WikiLeaks hack – the Russian government’s alleged involvement.

“You are very clearly quoting from WikiLeaks and what’s really important about WikiLeaks is that the Russian government has engaged in espionage against Americans,” Clinton told Wallace.

“They have hacked American websites, American accounts of private people, of institutions, then they have given that information to WikiLeaks for the purpose of putting it on the Internet,” she added.

“This has come from the highest levels of the Russian government, clearly from [Vladimir] Putin himself, in an effort – as 17 of our intelligence agencies have confirmed – to influence our election.

“So I actually think the most important question of this evening, Chris, is finally will Donald Trump admit that the Russians are doing this and that he rejects Russian espionage?”
----------

Hillary Clinton knew of the Russian influence, warned us, & publicly stated it with Sen Sanders, Chris Wallace & the world listening to her words.

I noticed that since that 13 person indictment came down - Melber has been picking on Bernie. I don't hear that from any of the other hosts of MSNBC programs - only Melber. I was going to ask here if anybody else sensed that Melber has it in for Bernie?

I can understand the Russians helping Bernie during the primaries -- because they like the Repugs followed the ABC's - Anybody But Clinton. But after Hillary won the Dem nomination - there was no need for the Russians to continue to support Bernie. The damage they did by dividing the Party during the primary spilled over to the General and some Bernie supporters didn't vote for Hillary. This is when the Russians turned their attention to supporting Trump and taking down Hillary any chance they got.

I really don't think Bernie had an inkling that he was getting any kind of Russian support during the primary.

Bottom line the Repugs and Trump were the beneficiaries of the Russian interference. If they would have been successful with knocking Hillary out of the primary and Bernie became the nominee - they - the Russians would have turned all their attention on Trump and would have done everything in their power to elect Trump and not Bernie.

13. This is current news. Sanders and Weavers argument mirrors that of Trump
Thu Feb 22, 2018, 08:03 PM
Feb 2018

These things were said on Feb 21, 2018.

—————-

“The factual underpinning of that in the indictment is what? Zero,” Weaver said. “I have not seen any evidence of support for Bernie Sanders.”

Sanders’ and Weaver's argument mirrors that of Trump, who has argued in a days-long series of tweets that the Russians were not supporting him. The president has blamed his nemesis, Barack Obama, for not doing enough to stop Russian disruption in the campaign.

“If all of the Russian meddling took place during the Obama Administration, right up to January 20th, why aren’t they the subject of the investigation?” Trump tweeted Wednesday morning. He earlier said that "some 400-pound genius sitting in bed and playing with his computer" could have been responsible for the activities attributed to Russians.

Sanders repeatedly refused to say why he didn’t call out Russian involvement during the campaign. Clinton's campaign regularly raised suspicions of Kremlin-backed activity during the home stretch of the race.

Before and in 2016, I had a LOT of friends who were enthusiastic, big-time Bernie supporters (Volunteered time and gave monies to his campaign). As of Thursday, February 22nd, 2018, almost ALL of my Bernie supporting friends aren't feeling him they way they had been. I know about 100 Bernie supporters across the country who are @ him. Many started side-eying Bernie after the election, because they said that he never said enough that the ruskies interferred into our elections. He also blamed Hillary for not speaking on it and she most certainly did. Today he changed course on that statement, so who knows where this kerfuffel between Pro-Hillary and Pro-Bernie folks ends up. Groups who should be trying to organize via getting others out to vote etc. to get that fat, racist, sexist, treasonous putin-HOG out of the White House are fighting amongst themselves Most of my friends said that although they still have great admiration and respect for Bernie, and that they don't regret support/vote for him in the primaries vs Hillary, they're not "feeling" him in the way that they used to.
