I think the NRA (via Loesch and LaPierre) are in an unfamiliar position and are lashing out.

For once after a mass shooting event, people are no longer sweeping the discussion about guns under the rug like they had before. (Even after Sandy Hook, which for the life of me I still don't understand.) They see people angry and upset. They see young people, future voters, angry and upset.

They suddenly realize that throwing unlimited money at politicians might not save them this time.

And that scares the hell out of them.

I think Loesch in particular was spooked from the night before at having to stare at the faces of victim's families and survivors who wanted real answers. She probably hated having to bite her tongue more than she was expecting to. Hence today the true nastiness flows out.

Loesch feels humiliated, rightly so. So she's lashing out. dchill Feb 2018 #1

taking them on. People I never thought would post anti NRA stuff are posting it and talking about how they fear for their kids. These young people have lit a fuse for sure.

I don't know how scared they are, but they're certainly not accustomed to being met head-on by their opponents. We've nibbled at the edges of this issue for decades, and fuck all has happened. Let's try some direct hammer blows on the NRA and their paid stooges and see what happens, hmmm?

They are also hearing Robert Mueller's footsteps. Their traitorous behavior is being exposed on all levels. That is extreme fear on all levels. Their scam is unraveling.
