Sam Zeif, a senior at MSD, survived and confronted Trump on banning assault weapons.

His anguished, emotional appeal was heartbreaking and the video has gone viral. Throughout his pleas, Trump just set there like a great lump of lard, unmoved and seemingly bored. Evidently his cheat sheet didn't include instructions on how to look like a human with compassion.

As I watched Sam's video being replayed I thought about how a real president might have responded to that boy's obvious pain and emotional trauma. I knew that if Obama had been at that meeting he would have gotten up and walked over to that child and hugged him tight and spoken quiet words of encouragement and support, maybe give him his own handkerchief. Obama would have stood with him and listened with understanding and genuine concern and compassion.

I know that because that is how President Obama always responded to tragedies when he was in office. He wouldn't have just sat across the room looking down at his belly. The difference in presidential temperaments deserves to be noted.

He was the only one in that room brave enough to talk gun control. I really admire him for that lunamagica Feb 2018 #1

I was outraged when he took the mic for the second time and was cut-off by one of the "let's arm the teachers" morons. Everyone was allowed to speak until they were finished, except for him.

I'm so happy to hear this video is going viral!
