Networks put stuff on to anger or polarize viewers. It helps ratings. Because the NRA have nothing new, anybody who would be swayed by their arguments is already watching Faux, not CNN.

In a 24 hour news cycle, this is cheap on air filler for the news shows. Everyone get to go on a break, have a cup of coffee and tune off what's playing on their own monitors.

As I watch, the projection is laughable, but that tactic obviously has fans in that audience. The NRA has fabricated a boogeyman by portraying Democrats, activists, the media, academia, and anyone who disagrees with a gun free for all, as dreaded "socialists", as if that sobriquet was somehow worse than a "mass murdering gunman".

The NRA says they have 8 million members, so how do they control 323 million people?
