In absolutely tears.
How powerful was that, those brave brave people.
Laws will change, no matter how many times Rubio and the NRA go on Hannity,
they wont stop this movement.
One of the most amazing things I have watched in my life.

#NationalSchoolWalkout
Students across the nation are organizing to hold another walkout on April 20, the 19th anniversary of the shooting at Columbine High School. Launched by a Connecticut high school student, the student-run event encourages students to wear orange, participate in the walkout, and organize events in their community.

(34,111 posts)I have felt that there might be a change.
They are not going to stop, there will be more young people joining this along with their families and teachers and all of us who are sick and tired of the NRA and their putting all of our lives in danger more now than ever before.
I have been very lucky, I have never seen someone walking around with a weapon (not since the rube on the corner that was going to shoot terrorists after 9/11). I support these young people 100%, I simply cannot imagine what they have gone through. Their parents? The grief kills me sitting here yet they are brave enough to get out and do this.
It feels like the beginning of the Vietnam protests. This is just getting started and we must help them keep it going. Young people speaking their minds. YES!
"There's battle lines being drawn
Nobody's right if everybody's wrong
Young people speaking their minds
Getting so much resistance from behind" It took me a moment to figure out where the statement that I wrote came from, here it is.

(7,529 posts)She went head to head with NRA spokesmodel Dana Loesch. I hope every journalism school will be competing to give her a scholarship. (If she has ambitions for it!)

(172 posts)A few points I was disappointed on.....
1. Surprised nobody confronted Rubio or Loesch on Trump signing a bill to make revoking a Obama rule to make it harder for mentally ill people to get a firearm. A bill the whitehouse is so proud of it wont release the picture of him signing it, even though there is a picture of it, and Trump loves to pose in signing ops. If Loesch was sincere about the mental health solution im sure she and NRA would of came out strong against it, they weren't.
2. Loesch's assertion that there were automatic weapons during the revolutionary war was laugh out loud funny. Washington, Jefferson, Madison could not even imagine a AR15 with a high capacity magazine. Hell 90 years later Grant and Lee couldn't imagine these weapons either.
