Daubenmire returned to this theme on his Pass The Salt Live webcast this morning, fuming that male students today are not being taught the virtues and responsibilities of masculinity.
This will sound horrible, but I have to say it, Daubenmire stated. Instead of the aftermath of these shootings in Florida being, Hey, dude, where young guys are saying to each other, Im gonna learn to fire a gun, I aint ever gonna let this happen again, Im gonna learn to fire a gun, instead the reaction is, Oh, please take the guns away. The exact opposite message! Meet power with power! Thats manhood, masculinity!
We dont even teach it, we have no concept of it, Daubenmire lamented, adding that guys like us who really get it are ridiculed by people like Howard Stern and organizations like Right Wing Watch.
Most guys dont have the stones to stand up and say, I dont care what you say!' Daubenmire screamed. It dont bother me! Heres what I think! Suck on that one, bud!'
After Daubenmire fumed that the fear of offending others is so womanly, one of the participants in the livestream piped up to share his theory that most men today display a lack masculinity because they just want to sleep with the women.
Boys, your life would be a lot easier if youd quit letting your peter rule your life, stated Daubenmire. I shouldnt have said that either, and Im not sorry.

Did Dave Daubenmire ever serve in the military? If this man did not serve in the military he has no right to criticize the young men of that school. There is a chance that Mr. Daubenmire has never known what it is like to have bullets flying at his body. Many of the young men who died in the shooting died trying to help other students. Many of these young men could have run away to save themselves, but stood in the face of bullets in order to save and protect their friends and fellow students. The young men ( as well as some young women) of Marjory Parkland showed true courage

Dave Daubenmire, America's self-styled high school football coach/Lord's evangelist, has a much better career going in the latter than the former.
Daubenmire, who's built a second career off of being the target of an American Civil Liberties lawsuit because he forced his players to pray with him, was trying to make his public school comeback, 14 years after stepping down once the school settled the suit. However, the board overseeing Lakewood High School in Hebron, Ohio, where Daubenmire graduated in 1971, in the town where he still makes his home, voted 3-2 against following the superintendent's recommendation to hire him as a football coach.
The move followed a month of controversy that swirled around the school when it became known Daubenmire was the leading candidate for the job. An online petition (with 4,000 signatures) was circulated, and the board meeting Feb. 12 featured passionate cases for and against Daubenmire.
So what's the big deal about a Christian coach? Well, it's not so much about him being a Christian, as it is about him being an overwhelming, bombastic pain in the rear end. Daubenmire himself, after getting fired in 2012 despite a successful run at the you-can-pray-with-the-players-here Fairfield Christian Academy in Ohio, said in a video acknowledging his run-ins with school administrators: "I can't keep my mouth shut."

And when that gets boring - as Talk to Action recently noted - Daubenmire has been known to burn a Koran to get his fix of media attention.
But how did Daubenmire come to fame in the first place?
His website has one version of the hero's origins: Dave Daubenmire, a veteran 25 year high school football coach, was spurred to action when attacked and eventually sued by the ACLU in the late 1990's for alledgedly [sic] mixing prayer with his coaching. After a two year battle for his 1st amendment rights and a determination to not back down, the ACLU relented and offered coach an out of court settlement. God honored his stand and the ACLU backed off. Coach's courageous stand, an inspiration to Americans everywhere, demonstrated that the ACLU can be defeated.
This is a curious usage of the word "defeated", given that Daubenmire's "courageous stand" meant him paying the ACLU $18,000 in costs, and the school district instituting an agreement which (according to the ACLU website)prohibits future acts of religious indoctrination and establishes a system for reporting violations of the agreement to the United States District Court in Columbus.
