We are ostensibly a two-party system after all.

The problem is the overwhelming majority of influential Republicans are so bought and paid for, championing cruelty to others and personal wealth above all else (which I blame most on the arch-NeoRepublican, Ronald Reagan). So many deplorable are so very deplorable, and our discourse so intentionally dialed up and toxified, that it’s hard not to vilify those whom we oppose (whether during primaries or the general election). But there are actual conservative Republicans who recognize the threat and whose self-interest is now an asset to those working towards the eradication of Trumpism.

Once we scrape the last of foreign intervention from the halls and heads of our government, it will be nice to have a reasoned disagreement again with other Americans without the din of Russian foolishness to overcome.

That's what once held the country together. I think they are made even more eloquent because they feel sick that their party has devolved into this nightmare death cult. We'd feel the same way if it had happened with our party. Hopefully, though, far more of us would be calling it out and not just a handful of former higher ups as seems to be the case with the repukes.

I know, I know.

It’s William Kristol, I know. But I recommend following him on Twitter. I have for 2 years and sometimes in amazement as he skewers today’s Republican Party. Much like David Frum is doing.

I have done what you did, start a thread extolling these Republicans, but there’s a bloc here who 1) bad mouth twitter and are proud they don’t use it.
2) won’t give these Republicans a chance.

But they should.

Just my two cents.

Give William Kristol a try. You will be amazed.

I like what you said about liking these Republicans better than some Duers.

Me too..
