By Joe Dejka, Chris Peters and Erin Duffy / World-Herald staff writers Feb 21, 2018 Updated 41 min ago

Students in several metro Omaha school districts walked out of school Wednesday to protest gun violence in the wake of the Parkland, Florida, shooting.

The numbers apparently were small, but students interviewed expressed passion for ending the violence.

About 20 students reportedly protested at Millard West High School and about 10 at Millard South High School, district spokeswoman Rebecca Kleeman said.

About 10 students reportedly walked out at Benson High School, and a couple of dozen each at Westside Middle and Westside High School.
