The White House says President Donald Trump will host students from the Florida high school recovering from a mass shooting during a “listening session” on Wednesday.

President Trump is scheduled to meet with students at 4:15 p.m. ET. Watch live in the player above.

The White House says Trump will “host a conversation on how to improve school safety.” Also in attendance will be people from groups representing survivors of the Sandy Hook and Columbine shootings.

Local parents, students and teachers will participate, as will Vice President Mike Pence and Education Secretary Betsy DeVos.

and he'd listen to the students.

I wonder how long his attention span will allow him to listen before he turns them off.

This to me is an act of desperation because I believe he senses and the Repugs sense that these students are a formidable force. Seems like Trump and the Repugs are going to have to pay some lip service to this and make some minor changes that they can take credit for - but not big enough to piss off the NRA - because they know that this issue could be the death of them in November.

Today's session will ultimately amount to nothing more than a photo op - to make it look like they are concerned and will do something. Bottom line they are hoping this story loses momentum in the news cycle. I think even Trump would be hoping Mueller does something to take away from this gun story.

If I'm not mistaken his last little sit around was when he let loose with the "shit hole" comment but that wasn't a public event.
