I think that many GOP politicians care only for their own interests, and the opinions of their owners.

Gun violence strikes everyone. And in my view, ignoring the solution that most countries have already adopted is willful blindness.

First, welcome to DU, where "Repukes" is a term of endearment for our friends on the other side of the aisle.

Second, the use of a word in the subject line of a post here doesn't have nearly the reach or influence you might think. We're a very small and largely ignored corner of the internet.

Third, the momentary hiccup in polling numbers reported last week when Republicans fleetingly gained parity in national preference has vanished like snowfall in July.

Our current government is at war with us and attacks us. Our children are no longer safe. The NRA, the GOP, and all levels of government are not keeping us safe and have failed us.

This is real, not a manufactured issue over kneeling during a song. Kneeling during the national anthem has nothing to do with keeping us safe.
