Florida teacher asks for handwritten letters to students after horrific shooting

A Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School teacher is trying to help as people mourn the loss of 17 people killed during a Feb. 14 school shooting there.

Reaching out to AP world history teachers, Diane Rogers wants to help her students heal from the horrific event they have experienced, a Facebook post says.

“I would like to greet them all on the first day back with letters of support … Not the email kind or the texting kind but real letters handwritten and signed by kids from our amazing community.

“I want them to hold the envelopes addressed from around the world to see that they are not alone and there is still kind and caring people in this world,” the post says. “If you would like to participate please send the letters.”

The address is:

Diane Wolk-Rogers

Stoneman Douglas High School

5901 NW Pine Island Road

Parkland, FL 33076
