Just in: Florida House Sponsor Explains Porn Resolution

Tallahassee, Florida

Rep. Ross Spano (R - 59th District), who will be running for Florida Attorney General in November, took some time out of his busy schedule to speak about the resolution passed yesterday that declared pornography to be a "public health hazard." As the sponsor of the bill, Spano, declared that he had something he wanted to explain about why that resolution was passed, even though a firearms regulation bill was killed on the same day. Spano declared, "Pornography is a much, much bigger threat to Florida's young people than guns could ever be."

He continued, "I, and other Republicans have spent hundreds of hours viewing the vile pornography that is readily available on the Internet free of charge. Our youths are viewing this very porn in their homes, classrooms, and on their cell phones. We watched countless disgusting sexual videos, and I'm here to tell you - It affected even our health. I, for one, am having serious vision problems and am experiencing unwanted palmar hair growth that is embarrassing, to say the very least."

When questioned further, Representative Spano said, "That shooter at the school only killed 17 students. Watching porn will ruin thousands of young lives, we have found. We know what's important in the Florida House of Representatives! We're doing everything we can to prevent youthful minds and healthy bodies from being corrupted by the things we watched for so long. Now, I'm exhausted, and need to get some rest...goodbye."

of those Republicans. It sucked them in and sapped their strength and ability to resist. Now, they know the suffering all those teenagers are experiencing, first hand, as it were.

You may not care for the phrasing, but the Florida state House refusing to even bring up gun legislation, amounts to the same thing

You're too kind...

However, I do wish for peace. Perhaps I'll write a piece about that soon.
