Who is "Person A"?

Ari Melber was discussing this matter with Stephanie Ruhle this morning. He said that both Manafort and Gates were communicating with "Person A"?

Who would have been above Manafort and Gates that they would have been compelled to communicate with? Would it have been Don, Jr? Would it have been Jared Kushner? Would it have been Donald Trump himself?

My bet is on Jared Kushner. Don Jr will come later.

1. It could be anyone in his administration.

Because A stands for asshole.

2. Could it be Manafort?

Manafort is not named explicitly in the document, so maybe he's referred to as "Person A" for some reason?

We know that, according to the Mueller document,
- the dutch lawyer communicated with both Person A and Gates about the Tymoshenko report
- the dutch lawyer claims that he communicated with Person A to discuss Person A's family.

So
- Person A has a family and is close enough to the dutch lawyer to discuss family matters with him
- The lawyer, Gates and Person A all worked on the Tymoshenko report

It's probably not Tad Devine, since he stopped working for the Ukraine bros when they started to lock up political opposition. So maybe Person A is simply Manafort?

4. I wondered about them at first, but this says it's a business associate in Ukraine

and an email was in Russian, which I think rules out Don Jr and Jared:

According to court documents filed in Washington and made public on Tuesday, Van der Zwaan failed to disclose a series of contacts in September 2016 with Rick Gates, a business associate of Manafort, and a person identified only as Person A, with whom Van der Zwaan spoke in Russia and who was described as a “longtime business associate of Manafort and Gates in Ukraine”.

5. From the many accounts of the van der Zwaan story

that I’ve read, Manafort’s daughter has surfaced as a potential Person A. She is a lawyer and worked for the same law firm as did Zwaan, both stationed at the London branch of Skadden Arps...

6. That would make sense if the goal is to offer Manifort a Sophies Choice.

Does he save his daughter, or continue to protect Trump. That is how Mueller flipped Flynn.
