When trump* talks about anything other than himself, he always sounds so bored and insincere

He gets that annoying 'sing-song' cadence in his speech and demonstrates absolutely zero energy in his delivery - unless and until he makes himself the subject. Then he becomes very animated. He even sounds bored when delivering what passes for condolences.

Has anyone ever seen an educated analysis of this behavior?
