I do not want, nor will I if pressed carry a gun in my classroom. PERIOD.

How is a teacher supposed to do the job they were hired to do and worry about where that gun is every minute?

I would not want to be the "one with the gun" when the police showed up.

What if the shooter was a student?

How do I leave my students in a room and play detective to help locate the shooter?

Who would pay for the training and the weapon? What teacher would lose their job to pay for such training?

Why me? All I want to do is teach...

oh and I do have my CCW but I will NEVER ever take on that responsibility in my classroom.

require that? Fire me.

in my own first grade classroom after I returned from Winter Vacation after Sandy Hook. We refused to even consider the idea and if they tried to make us we would go to the union. There is the local, state and national teachers union. Call the NEA and tell them.. They will support you even if you are not a member. I am sure they are getting ready for this right this very minute.

so great that the idiot o'keefe tried to smear him. Didn't work.

He is great and he will not even entertain guns in our classroom.

ironically we just expelled a student for bringing a gun to school.

having some volunteer teachers or staff who are former military or law enforcement or trained as an emergency squad. There are schools around here who have that now.

I don't think anyone wants untrained teachers carrying guns in class they don't know how to use or won't use.

I think you can rest easy.
