2. What are you going to do?
3. Will this make a repeat mass school shooting less likely in the future?

But framing it this way means there is no left or right. It's are you with or against the kids instead.

(5,275 posts)We need to go after the NRA hard, they have so much blood on their hands. All while hiding behind
an Amendment written 200 and some years ago in a completely different USA. It was never intended to be an excuse for selling military grade weapons to everyday citizens minus any real background check.
Again, the NRA has morphed into a terrorist organization.
I hope these different movements do grow and actually have an influence. I've been feeling pretty hopeless, but these kids are throwing it right in the face of these awads, and I certainly am enjoying that.

(51,609 posts)at the government level as well on the activist level. Here is info and links with scripts (for BOTH parties), names of reps, amounts of NRA $, 30 ways to make changes, etc.
I have been getting a lot of mail from my liberal groups and this last item I received sums up the events pretty well.
Enough Prayers. It's Time to Vote.
If you are sick and tired of the endless mass shootings that haven been happening in our country, there actually is something you can do about it. The reason that no gun laws change despite literally hundreds of school shootings, is that the NRA is lining the pockets of many of our representatives. If we want to see gun laws change, we must vote them out of office.

If you are repped by one of the GOP Senators or Congresspeople on this list, contact them today to tell them you will vote them out of office if they continue to take campaign donations or support of any kind from the NRA. And in the next election, do just that. You can also contact your reps to demand action against gun violence.

#NationalSchoolWalkout
Students across the nation are organizing to hold another walkout on April 20, the 19th anniversary of the shooting at Columbine High School. Launched by a Connecticut high school student, the student-run event encourages students to wear orange, participate in the walkout, and organize events in their community.

I'm not even sure if Blunt ever made a statement. I think he's too far gone for even thoughts and prayers.
Hartzler's office said we should pray on it. I'm thinking that's the bottom line given to the aides.

(29,674 posts)Have discussed buying newspaper ads in a few papers statewide with a list of names of people who've been hung up on and the dates. The sheer number of responses made them suspect they would need full page ads.
It's a very common occurrence.
