The lawyer who lied to the FBI...his crimes must be REALLY bad...

Can you imagine just what this lawyer Van der Zwaan did, that he then went and deleted emails, encrypted documents, tried to hide other electronic evidence? He had to know the FBI can catch this sort of stuff....easy as chewing gum for them. So that must mean that his crimes were bad enough to be worth getting caught obstructing justice, adding to his crimes.

Saw on the news that he was caught pretty quickly, too. Just 3 months after the guy tried to remove the evidence, he was indicted.

One interesting footnote, though: HE HAD RECORDED ONE OR MORE CONVERSATIONS! Now THAT'S interesting. I wonder who and what he recorded. And why.

You can't make this stuff up. It gets weirder and weirder.

UPDATE: just read that Van der Zwaan was indicted re communications w/Gates....including Gates' and Manafort's efforts re foreign lobbying...AND Van der Zwaan's wife, Eva Kahn, is the daughter of Russian billionaire German Khan. HIS WIFE IS THE DAUGHTER OF A RUSSIAN OLIGARCH.

everyone else is coming to the realization that mueller has them dead to rights, and that sleaze bag in the white house is NOT worth going to prison for. Manafort, for reasons beyond my ability to comprehend, actually thinks he can fight this and it is worth taking on mueller to defend drumpf LOL Fine. Mueller doesn't need him, let him spend the rest of his life in prison if he doesn't want to play nice.

I've never heard that expression. Good expression. Maybe Mueller is still thinking he's such a big man that nothing will happen. After all, men like him are pretty arrogant. He's been laundering money and doing who knows what else for years, with no accountability.

I hope he gets it stuck to him, like Bernie Madoff. But so many of these types seem to get slaps on the wrist.

FBI is casting a wide net for all these cockroaches. I expect there will be a significant amount of evidence produced from all the singing done by those charged.

Btw, I've been having trouble remaining logged in DU for the last 3 hours. Don't know the reason but I ve seen no posts by other members having problems. My post that you responded to was my first since having the difficulty. Hopefully it 's cleared up.

During the last couple of days, I'd go into the site, and my login had logged out. I had to log in again. I had the "remember my login" box checked. But then it stopped doing that.

As for the Ukraine story, it seems to me that the Trump team really did plan on trying to imprison Clinton, like the Russian puppet in Ukraine did to the woman who ran against him. Even after he "won," Trump talked about "lock her up."

And the poisoning of that opponent. Horrific. There is no doubt that Putin did that. That could happen here. Looks like the Russians are involved in our government to an extent that is unbelievable. The Russians are everywhere! Connected with everyone on the right, and some on the left. WTH????
