James Buchanan just moved up from the worst US president to allow Trump to take the seat

AND Barack Obama has moved up into the top 10. (He is at 8 now)

Since our previous survey in 2014, some presidential legacies have soared (Barack Obama’s stock has climbed into the Top 10), while others have fallen (Andrew Jackson toppled to 15, out of the Top 10).

And President Trump? Let’s say that, according to the 170 members of the American Political Science Association’s Presidents and Executive Politics section who filled out our survey, he has at least three years to improve on an ignominious debut.

The biggest declines were for Bill Clinton, arguably the result of contemporary scorn for his treatment of women, and Andrew Jackson, for evolving attitudes on his treatment of Native Americans.

(he was probably gay; he was very close to Senator William Rufus King, and they were known as "Aunt Fancy and Miss Nancy" in Washington gossip of the time).

It was the one positive American political thing I thought I'd have for a while. And he screwed even that up. Worst President ever. That's not a good thing, even for those of us who hate his guts.

why is trump listed as 44th... they list 1 through 44 not 1 thru 45.

I thought it might be Wm Harrison who was only President for 31 days, but he is there at number 42.

who did they leave out?

How can I take a poll seriously when it puts Reagan ahead of Clinton or Ford ahead of Carter (or, for that matter, any criminal Rethug [and, yes, they *are* all criminals] ahead of any Democrat)?
